Catholic school students, grades Pre K-3 to grade 12, in the Diocese of Corpus Christi, are intrigued and excited to begin their important entrance into the study of Robotics and Coding. This new initiative encourages students to wonder, to explore and to problem solve. Through classrooms that blend collaboration, problem solving and project based learning our students are challenged with STREAM (Science, Technology, Religion, Engineering, Arts and Mathematics) projects coupled with Robotics and Coding. Students excel in logical thinking and enhance their critical thinking skills in our classrooms of today and tomorrow.
Students are eager for “hands on” activities where they learn the frontiers of programming step-by-step. These skills enable students to understand the technology shaping our world and prepare them for a job market demand for coders in industry.
The Office of Catholic Schools in the Diocese of Corpus Christi is thrilled to advance technology in our Catholic schools thereby sparking students’ imagination with the love of learning.
With the desire to engage and excite our students and to prepare them for our advanced technology landscape our students will develop higher-order thinking and critical learning skills. What’s more our students will be prepared with the 21st century skills for college and the workforce. Six schools were selected to be part of the pilot program for Chromebook Technology. The funds were made possible through a generous grant from the Kenedy Memorial Foundation.
Ongoing initiatives such as this will allow our students TO SHINE AS BEACONS OF HOPE, RADIANTS OF KNOWLEDGE AND AS DISCIPLES FOR CHRIST.
Providing technology resources for our teachers and staff.
