St. Patrick School sixth grade students were given an opportunity to challenge themselves, overcome fears and work together as teams on their class trip at The Outdoor School near Marble Falls on April 23-25. Assistant principal Dave Mason said the trip “culminates their years of hard work here at St. Patrick School.”
Gabriel Rauen, a seventh grader at Incarnate Word Academy Middle Level, placed first in the maps, graphs, and charts category at the Private Schools Interscholastic Association (PSIA) State Meet on April 26. A total of six students qualified to compete in the PSIA State Meet after they placed in the PSIA District Meet in February.
The Catholic Student Organization (CSO) at Texas A&M University-Kingsville (TAMUK) held a Busy Students Retreat at the newly built Newman Center and St. Thomas Aquinas Chapel in Kingsville from April 20-24.
St. Michael the Archangel Parish held a Fall Festival Fundraiser Kick–off, the first ever 5K Run/Walk on April 5 in Banquete. Fifty adults and youth participated in the event. “St. Michael’s 5K Run/Walk” gears up the parish for their big parish fundraiser, the Fall Festival, which will be on Sept. 27.

Circles of Care, a private, non-profit foster care agency in Corpus Christi is looking for couples and single parents to care for abused, neglected and abandoned children. They provide training, support services and reimbursement to participating parents.
On the night of April 23, someone vandalized the Divine Mercy display, which was set up in Daley Plaza by private citizens on April 17. For the previous seven years, the display held its nine-day vigil without incident. This is the first time that someone has defaced the images.
Blessed John Paul II High School students, in the spiritual giving of Blessed John Paul II, helped a family in need this weekend. The students committed the full weekend of work in hopes of giving an elderly man a chance to bring his wife home from the nursing home.
