Michael Mulvey. The Feast of the Assumption Mass held greater significance for the students this year, since it was the first Mass of the school year.

Bishop Wm. Michael Mulvey encouraged youth to put faith, hope and love into their lives during the homily at the Mini-Youth Spectacular Adoration held at Corpus Christi Cathedral on Aug. 21. About 150 people attended the Adoration, Eucharistic Exposition and Benediction. Prayers were dedicated to all youth in the diocese as they begin the new school year and for the upcoming 30th Anniversary of Youth Spectaculars in September.

Sister Mary Margaret Friedl, SSpSAP passed away on Monday, Aug. 5, five days short of her 93rd birthday. She was born into a large Catholic family in Waverly, Iowa on Aug. 10, 1920. Her parents, bakers by trade, were staunch in their faith, generous and hard working.
