Several hundred people joined Bishop Michael Mulvey for Mass at Sacred Heart parish in Three Rivers on Oct. 20 to give thanksgiving for this year’s harvest. This is the third year Bishop Mulvey has celebrated the Mass of Thanksgiving for the Harvest.
American Catholics have a unique opportunity next month to support Catholic ministry in the U.S. military and Veterans Affairs (VA) Medical Centers by giving to a first-ever, special collection at Sunday Mass. Parishes across the country will take up the special collection for the Archdiocese for the Military Services, USA (AMS) the weekend of Nov. 9-10. The collection is timed to coincide with Veterans Day, which follows on Monday.
For the 12th year, the International Relay Run of the Antorcha Guadalupana will be passing through the Diocese of Corpus Christi. Bishop Michael Mulvey will celebrate Mass for the runners at Sacred Heart in Corpus Christi at 7 p.m. on Oct. 31.
Dr. Brad Wilcox, a nationally recognized speaker from the University of Virginia, will make two presentations in the Diocese of Corpus Christi on the topics of fatherhood and marriage. The public is invited to both presentations.

As the month of October is dedicated to the Holy Rosary, Incarnate Word Academy Middle Level students prayed a living rosary on Tuesday, Oct. 22. Sixth, seventh and eighth grade students prayer the living rosary in the school’s James R. Dougherty Center.
Incarnate Word Academy is recognizing the week of Oct. 21-25 as National Bullying Prevention Week to encourage everyone to take an active role in the bullying prevention movement. October is National Bullying Prevention Month.

Sister Mary Anne Pagano observed her 25th anniversary in religious life on Jan. 23, 1988 when she made her first profession of vows. On Oct. 17, 1992 she made her perpetual profession of vows.
