Seven years ago the Diocese of Corpus Christi helped begin the Medical Mission annual commitment to the parish of San Pablo in Ecuador. Throughout the last seven years, the diocese has continued to support San Pablo, a parish of 12,000 people in one of the poorest areas of Ecuador.
We are privileged to see John the Baptist in the context of history, and to see that his greatness brings us to the end of an era. With the coming of Jesus, we are introduced to the greatness of Christianity–the epoch for which the whole of world history has been preparing us.

The first ever BMW Charity Golf Tournament played at the NorthShore Country Club in Portland on July 14 raised about $15,000 for the Guardian Angel Fund at Sts. Cyril and Methodius School. The funds raised will go toward helping families in financial crisis.

The success of the first-ever Professional Development Summer Camp, held July 18-23, will ensure that the Department of Evangelization and Catechesis from the Diocese of Corpus Christi will continue the program in the future. The adult faith formation event attracted more than 160 participants, from Catholic schoolteachers to parish catechetical leaders.
Members of the Corpus Christi Dominican Laity Group were received into the Rite of Admission, the Rite of Temporary Profession and the Rite of Permanent Profession at St. Paul, the Apostle Parish on Saturday, Aug. 6, two days before the Feast Day of St. Dominic.
