WYD was full of adventures

Our group’s WYD 2011 experience was full of adventures. It had its many ups and downs. The week leading up to the actual vigil and Mass with the Pope was spent going to talks, catechetical instructions, church visits and meeting with fellow pilgrims.

Pilgrims were filled with the joy of the Holy Spirit. I was struck by the solemnity and great fervor of the pilgrims during the Saturday Prayer Vigil and the Final Mass. It only testified to the fact that those young people were living witnesses of the power of faith that was expressed in faith, hope and love.

The youth of the world have witnessed the devotion, piety and sacredness of WYD 2011.
Pope Benedict XVI was truly grateful for all the pilgrims for coming to Madrid. Young people’s faith and energy inspired Pope Benedict.

World Youth Day 2011 was a wonderful journey to God for me, and for those who made the pilgrimage.
