In partnership with Habitat for Humanity, Texas Catholic Daughters of the Americas (CDA) will raise the walls of their seventh Habitat home on Saturday, Sept. 19 The home will be located at 2818 Soledad Street in Corpus Christi. The ground blessing ceremony will begin at 10 a.m., followed by a full-day of work to raise the walls of the 900 sq. ft. two-bedroom home for a single mother with two children.
CDA members will travel across Texas packing boots, gloves and hammers every Saturday beginning Sept. 9 from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. to build a home for a deserving family. No experience is required; there’s a job for every volunteer. The home should be completed by April 2016.
Previous CDA state builds were completed in 2015 in Columbus; 2012 in Victoria; 2011 in Eagle Lake; 2008 the Lenten International build in Mexico; 2007 in Wichita Falls; and 2004 in Corpus Christi.
