The Diocese of Corpus Christi and True Modesty present their 2nd Annual Fashion Show on Saturday, Aug. 24, at the Richard M. Borchard Regional Fairgrounds in Robstown from 6:30 to 9 p.m.
"The True Modesty program's mission is to prove to young women that in today's society fashion can be both beautiful and modest, while focusing on the true meaning of femininity and growing in faith, virtues and style," Deacon Stephen Nolte with the Diocese of Corpus Christi said.
This one-night event will kick-off with a "Shirley Temple" social hour and the fashion show will follow with master of ceremonies Jennifer Lira, anchor for KRIS 6 News.
Mario St. Francis Herrera, International Catholic actor, model and Director of World Youth Day Media will be the guest speaker. His apostolic work has taken him to speak to every continent on earth and assist in taking about 2,000 youth from North America to each World Youth Day for an authentic pilgrimage experience once every three years.
The young women participating in the fashion show have attended a retreat and a series of sessions to assist in their spiritual formation, and fittings in preparation for the event. After the completion of the entire program, they will receive a certificate of completion and will be eligible to participate in the Modesty Formation Program on a leadership level in the future.
Live entertainment, hors d'oeuvres, a silent auction, red carpet photo opportunities and ministry booths will also be featured at the event. Proceeds raised from the fashion show will offset the cost of the evening and the future success of the True Modesty Program.
