St. John Paul II High School and Bishop Garriga Middle Preparatory School held their Second Annual Breast Cancer Awareness Walk on Friday, Oct. 23, on and around both school campuses. The walk helped raise awareness among students, faculty, staff and parents and raised funds for the American Cancer Society.
The walk began at the football stadium with a prayer by Father Patrick Higgins. The Corpus Christi Fire Department's Pink Fire Truck with Mayor Nelda Martinez riding as a passenger led the procession. Representatives from Radiology Associates and the American Cancer Society joined in the walk as well.
The St. John Paul II drum line provided music for the walk. The walk ended at the stadium with signs being held up with a message of support.
