Msgr. Michael Heras, Pastor of St. Peter, Prince of the Apostles Parish in Corpus Christi today announced "The Lighting of St. Peter's, is a community event to inaugurate the lighting of Christmas decorations throughout the grounds and buildings of the church located at 3901 Violet Road," Msgr. Heras said.
The project is significant in size and is expected to utilize more than 25,000 lights and is destined to be one of the "must see" Christmas presentations in the city (the entire project has been underwritten by an anonymous donor.)
The display will be lit for the first time Dec. 7, following the 6 p.m. Mass and a candlelight procession at 7 p.m. The Mass, procession and lighting is intended to be a public event that brings the community together to celebrate the Christmas season. The procession and lighting ceremonies will be followed by the singing of Christmas carols, refreshments and light snacks in the parish hall. All are invited.
