St. Patrick School Shamrock runners honor 9/11 heroes

The fallen of 9/11 were remembered in a special way in Corpus Christi on the 13th anniversary of that fateful day. More than 1,000 area runners came out to Cole Park on Thursday, Sept. 12, to participate in the fourth annual Patriot 5K Run & Walk sponsored by Citizens In Support of the Corpus Christi Police Department.

Among the 1,000 runners were more than 30 Shamrock Running Club members from St. Patrick School and their families. Each ran in remembrance of a fallen hero from 9/11.

The Shamrock Running Club has more than 120 members from 1st-6th grades. They practice every Monday and participate in a 5K race every month.
