The St. John Paul II High School Band, Dance Team and Cheerleaders took 1st place in the 2014 Buc Days Illuminated Night Parade on May 3. This is the second time that St. John Paul II Band wins 1st Place in the Buc Parade.
The St. John Paul II Band has been practicing for this event since April. The band and dance team met three times a week and marched around the school grounds learning to stay in step together, and learning special dances that would entertain the crowd.
Angie Meneses and Ben Zaragosa assisted Band Director Tony Zamora. Dance and Drill Team instructors are Cindy Sandoval and Jeneva Tilly.
“Winning first place is a great honor to the band,” Zamora said. “This is a special honor since many of the band members have only played their instruments for less than a month.”
