Seniors receive excellence awards for their study of French

Incarnate Word Academy seniors Dana Alonso-Bauer and Helena Daubourg recently received the American Association of Teachers of French (AATF) Excellence in French Award.

To qualify for the award, a student must be enrolled in a French class, demonstrate excellence in the study of French, demonstrate a commitment to the study of French in extracurricular activities such as French Club, be a non-native French speaker, and be nominated by an AATF member.

“It has been an honor to teach such intelligent, enthusiastic, and capable students,” IWA French Teacher Janet Lumley said. “They transcended my expectations and inspired me to strive to meet the challenge they set for me as a teacher.”
