A group of diocesan, parish and school accounting personnel have been meeting for several months to review new accounting software for parishes and schools in the Diocese of Corpus Christi. The change to the new accounting software is expected to take place later this year.
After Jan. 1, 2015, Microsoft will not support FoxPro on which the Logos software–currently in use by parishes and schools in the diocese–is based. Logos has been in use by parishes and schools for 12 years.
To address this situation the diocese finance office organized a Software Search Team to review software demos and provide input to changes to the chart of account if necessary. Member of this team include Father Patrick Donohoe, pastor of Holy Family Church and School; Tina Villegas, bookkeeper for Holy Family Church and School; Lucy Olmos, bookkeeper at St. Patrick Church and School; Leanne Gibbon, bookkeeper for St. Pius X School; Lisa Catchings, bookkeeper for St. Pius X Parish; Dora Garcia, bookkeeper for Our Lady of Guadalupe in Corpus Christi and Bishop Garriga Middle School; Kiki Garcia, secretary at Ss. Cyril & Methodius Parish; Elizabeth Gonzalez, with Our Lady of Guadalupe in Corpus Christi; and Natalie Klostermann, CPA - auditor of all diocesan parishes and schools.
Paul Damerow, Glenn Goldapp and Anna Bracken with the Diocese of Corpus Christi are providing staff support.
