Sacred Heart School 5th grader Emily Resendez recently represented her school at the state capitol in Austin during Aransas County Days. Emily had the opportunity to act as a page on the floor of the Senate where she met several senators.
Emily and her mother travelled with the contingent from the Rockport-Fulton area including the mayors and councilmen of those cities, the Rockport Fulton High School Choir and students from each Rockport school.
When asked what part of the trip she liked the best, Emily said it was meeting the senators and learning more about the way the state government works.
“Sacred Heart School is very proud of Emily and the way she represented our school,” Principal Kathy Barnes said.
