New Appointment in the Diocese

Bishop Mulvey has appointed Fr. Joseph Lopez, pastor of Most Precious Blood, as Vicar Forane of the Corpus Christi Southside Vicariate, effective February 1, 2025. 

The Vicar Forane occupies an important role in the life of the Diocese of Corpus Christi: assisting the bishop in promoting and coordinating the common pastoral activity within the vicariate according to the rights and duties given by universal and diocesan law.
As Vicar Forane, Fr. Lopez will be a member of the Diocesan Presbyteral Council. 

As a "vicar," by ecclesiastical and diocesan custom, he is granted the privilege to use the title "Very Reverend" before his name as well as the initials "V.F."
