Local WYD brings the spirit of Lisbon to the Coastal Bend

World Youth Day is starting; the pilgrims from our diocese and Bishop Mulvey are about to board their flights – and yet, the modern means of communication can bring the WYD to us. And since it would not be a WYD feeling sitting alone at home, teens and young adults are invited to celebrate together on Saturday, August 5.

The day begins at 9 am at the Corpus Christi Cathedral; at 9:30 am, there will be mass with Fr. James Stembler. Afterward, the participants are invited to serve the community in different projects.

At 1 pm, everyone regroups for lunch at St. Patrick Parish, where the rest of the day unfolds. Besides watching parts of WYD together, there will be games, interactive moments, adoration and prayer until 9 pm.
