Local missionaries leave for Ecuador

A group of 53 Texas missionaries, including 28 from St. Andrew by the Sea Parish in Corpus Christi, departed for a weeklong mission trip to San Pablo, Ecuador on June 7. The mission group, Amigos de Texas, will be providing medical aid, education and construction to the people of San Pablo.

A dentist, OB/GYN and optometrist, along with trained nurses and medical personnel, make up the 28 missionaries from Corpus Christi and 25 from Houston.

The day before their departure Bishop Wm. Michael Mulvey of Corpus Christi gave a special blessing to the Corpus Christi missionaries led by Msgr. Tom McGettrick pastor at St. Andrew by the Sea Parish. The bishop thanked them for the work they have done in past trips and will continue to accomplish.
