Confronted with ever increasing costs, local non-commercial station KLUX 89.5HD will hold a two-day, on-the-air fundraiser to make up budget shortfalls on Oct. 8-9.
Titled the "Short Fall Raiser", the two-day event will feature KLUX personnel and guests making on-air appeals for support and taking phone-in pledges. The goal of the two-day event is $13,000. More information is available on the station's Website at http://klux.org.
With a signal covering the bulk of South Texas, KLUX was the first local station to broadcast in the new HD radio format and has been singled out in past years by state and local emergency management offices and organizations for its special contributions during civil emergencies. The station broadcasts a format of Easy Listening Music with Inspirational and educational messages as well as free airtime for numerous local not-for-profit organizations to promote their projects and events.
