Today is a new chapter in the life of the congregation of sisters of the Incarnate Word and the Blessed Sacrament, Bishop Michael Mulvey said during his homily at the installation Mass of the superior general and general council celebrated on Friday, June 10, at the congregation's chapel.
The newly elected leadership team consists of Sister Annette Wagner, Superior General; Sister Maria Irma Gonzalez, Assistant General; and Sister Colette Brehony, Sister Barbara Marie Netek and Sister Marilyn Grace Springs as members of the leadership team.
Bishop Mulvey thanked Sister Michelle Marie Kuntscher, IWBS for her eight years of service as superior general of the congregation and told the new leaders that leadership is a sacred responsibility and it should be regarded as such.
"First and foremost be the incarnate word," Bishop Mulvey said.
