CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas – Incarnate Word Academy High School Level senior John Lawrence “J.L.” Bronold has been named as a National Merit finalist.
After scoring a 223 on his PSATs in October of last year, Bronold learned that he was a semi-finalist. Now a senior, he said he is excited about being recognized as a National Merit Finalist.
“I’ve been waiting for the last three months,” he said.
The IWA senior, who has been accepted to Texas A&M University in College Station, said he plans to major in chemical engineering. He said he is very grateful for this acceptance and Incarnate Word Academy.
“I know in comparisons to other schools, this school has done a great job in preparing me for college,” Bronold said. “It has really helped me.”
The 2013 senior class at Incarnate Word Academy has one National Merit Finalist, seven National Merit Commended students, one National Achievement Outstanding Participant, and three National Hispanic Scholars.
