Incarnate Word Academy senior Annabelle Dura has earned a Gold Key in The Scholastic Art & Writing Awards in the Southwest Writing Region-At-Large Division.

CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas – Incarnate Word Academy senior Annabelle Dura has earned a Gold Key in The Scholastic Art & Writing Awards in the Southwest Writing Region-At-Large Division.
Dura submitted a poem "Self Acceptance" and was selected from thousands of entries by students in Arkansas, Louisiana, New Mexico and Texas. She is now being considered for national recognition.
She also received two Silver Keys for her short stories “Burning” and “Wish You Were Here,” and three Honorable Mentions for her short story “The Kissing Flower,” personal essay “The Beginning Of The Rest Of My Life” and her poem “My First.”
More than 200,000 works of art and writing were submitted in the competition. National medalists will be announced March 15.
