Incarnate Word Academy High School’s football team made history on Oct. 28 as they played the first-ever official six-man football game in the school’s history. The IWA Angels played against St. Augustine High School’s Knights on Oct. 28 in Laredo.
They played a great first game against the Knights. The final score was Angels 34 vs. Knights 36.
Earlier this year, IWA announced that six-man football would be coming to the high school level. The Athletic Department at IWA has been hard at work adding coaching staff and football equipment.
The enthusiastic and dedicated student-athletes have participated in strength and conditioning camps, summer football workouts, and football practices since the first day of school.
The Angels first official football TAPPS season will kick off in 2023.
