Incarnate Word Academy Middle Level students, faculty and staff celebrated the Crowning of Mary with a Mass on Friday, May 17, at the school’s James R. Dougherty Center.
Two selected students walked in the crowning procession to honor Mary as the Mother of the Lord Jesus at the beginning of Mass. After the crowning, each student from the sixth, seventh and eighth grade processed up to the statue to place flowers that they brought to school.
The students prayed the “Hail Holy Queen” before the celebration of Mass.
The Crowning of Mary is an example of how IWA students believe in Jesus Christ, the Incarnate Word and His message of love for the world.
