The varsity and junior varsity girls’ cross country teams both earned first place at the TAPPS District Cross Country Meet on Oct. 17. The junior varsity boys’ team earned third place and varsity boys’ team received fourth place.
Jacob Gonzalez, Stevan Silva, Natalie Trevino, Remy Ellison and Anna Simank received All-District honors. Both varsity teams will advance to compete at the TAPPS State Championships on Oct. 31. Last season, the girls won first place and the boys received second place at the state meet.
The district meet was hosted by Incarnate Word Academy at the school’s training site at Our Lady of Corpus Christi.
Other schools participating included St. John Paul II High School, St. Joseph High School, Cornerstone Christian High School, Providence High School, San Antonio Christian High School, Holy Cross High School, St. Augustine High School and TMI - The Episcopal School of Texas.
Recently, the IWA varsity girls’ team has earned first place at the Islander Splash Cross Country Meet and second place at the Beeville Cross Country Meet. The varsity boys’ team received fifth place at the Beeville Cross Country Meet and sixth place at the Islander Splash Cross Country Meet.
