IWA kicks off first annual Alumni Homecoming Reunion Weekend

More than 125 from Incarnate Word Academy and Corpus Christi College Academy returned to Corpus Christi on Nov. 21-24 to attend Incarnate Word Academy’s first annual Alumni Homecoming Reunion Weekend.

Some of these alumni are former all-state athletes who competed in the schools' Alumni versus Alumni Basketball Game on Nov. 21 in the Mother Patricia Gunning Gymnasium.

These all-state athletes included Jeremiah Narvaez (2000 graduate), Korey Hardeman (1999 graduate), Lance Smith ’95, Tom McGettrick ’95, Jason Zamora (1994 graduate), Adam Farrell (1993 graduate), Jason Williams (1988 graduate), and Mark Busker (1980 graduate).

Also competing in the Alumni versus Alumni Game were on the White Team, Cristian Moreno (2013 graduate), Cody Randall (2010 graduate), Jordan Cadena (2010 graduate), Noe Saldana III (2009 graduate), Lawrence Garza (2009 graduate), Marissa Lopez (2008 graduate), Anika Page Tamez (2005 graduate), Cristina Lopez (2005 graduate), Lance Smith (1995 graduate), Tom McGettrick (1995 graduate), Jason Zamora (1994 graduate), Michael Owen (1993 graduate), Adam Farrell (1993 graduate), Jason Williams (1988 graduate) and John Raimondo (1988 graduate).

Playing on the Red Team were Andrew Shull (2013 graduate), Matthew Busker (2009 graduate), Tim Franco (2009 graduate), John Tamez (2005 graduate), Adrian Cantu (2005 graduate), Jason Skrobarczyk (2005 graduate), Michael Skrobarczyk (2005 graduate), Daniel Wanek (2004 graduate), Jeremiah Narvaez (2000 graduate), Korey Hardeman (1999 graduate), Monica Benavides Narvaez (1999 graduate), Nina Perrone Trigger (1989 graduate), Tricia Perrone (1987 graduate), Mark Busker (1980 graduate) and Benito Tamez Jr. CCCA, (1973 graduate).

There was also a welcome reception, food booths, live music, the burning of the “A,” a homecoming game, distinguished alumni awards dinner and dance, breakfast, campus tours and a reunion Mass in the convent chapel.
