Cheerleaders greeted students with an “Aloha” as they entered Incarnate Word Academy High School’s Gunning Gym on Thursday, Sept. 6, for the first pep rally of the 2012-13 athletic season.
The Hawaiian-themed pep rally, recognized IWA’s cross-country, volleyball and swimming teams.
The pep rally included an opening prayer, and an introduction of its teams, cheerleaders and Crew II members. The pep rally also included a tug-of-war and spirit contest among all the high school grade levels.
“Pep rallies at Incarnate Word Academy are a great example of how the school celebrates the individual gifts and talents of its hard-working young men and women in and out of the classroom,” the school’s Media Relations Specialist Dominique Damian said.
