IWA elementary level students participate in Advent retreat

Incarnate Word Academy Elementary Level students focused on peace and the coming of Christ as they participated in an Advent Retreat from Dec. 9-11.

“It’s important for students at any age to understand that they need to center on prayer in preparation of the coming of Christ,” IWA Elementary Level Principal Rosario Davila said.

Throughout the retreat, students prayed the Holy Rosary, participated in art activities and learned about the importance of responding to God’s call.

“I’m having a lot of fun,” third grader Micayla Ashley said during the retreat. “I feel closer to my friends.”
