Children of parents currently incarcerated in prison gathered for a Christmas party at Corpus Christi Cathedral’s St. Joseph Hall Dec. 20. Bishop Wm. Michael Mulvey attended the event and wished all the kids a Merry Christmas.
The children gathered around to see the baby Jesus up close as the family Kris, Mara and Joshua Morgan dressed the part of Joseph, Mary and baby Jesus.
There was face painting, story telling, gifts, Christmas caroling, coloring, food and a picture with Saint Nicholas.
The Office of Life, Justice and Human Dignity of the Diocese of Corpus Christi under the direction of Deacon Stephen Nolte sponsored the event. Several youth groups from parishes volunteered to help with face painting and passing out food.
The children from Catholic schools adopted a child for gift giving. Dismas Charities, Catholic Charities, Angel Tree Ministry, Prison Fellowship and many volunteers helped to make it a great time for all.
