The Texas Association of Parochial and Private Schools (TAPPS) recently named Incarnate Word Academy (IWA) High School in Corpus Christi the sixth overall in the 31 schools that comprise the 4A division and as the number one Catholic high school.
Each year TAPPS ranks schools in their five divisions in Texas. Rankings are based on schools’ performances in athletic, academic and fine arts competitions.
“This is an outstanding achievement that was made possible by the commitment and fortitude of our students, faculty, coaches, administrators and staff,” Incarnate Word Academy High School Principal Jose Torres said. “Our expectations for our students are high and they never cease to amaze in their abilities to reach even higher. Our young people balance rigorous academic schedules along with sports, music, arts, etc., while keeping their faith and service to others as guiding principles in their lives.”
