Father Paul Damian Johnston, SOLT died on July 22 at Casa San Jose in Robstown. He was 73. Father Johnston was born in Long Island New York to John and Margaret Johnston on April 10, 1940.

Father Johnston served 13 months at St. Anthony in Robstown as a seminarian before being ordained by Bishop Edmond Carmody as a transitional deacon on June 29, 2002. The following year, on June 14, 2003, Bishop Carmody ordained him as a priest. He was assigned to Papua, New Guinea.

A funeral Mass for Father Johnston was celebrated July 29 at St. Anthony's Catholic Church in Robstown. Burial was in St. Anthony's Cemetery.
