CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas - Celebrate St. Patrick’s Day with the “Glor na Daire Academy of Irish Dance” who will performing in the community this week in honor of St. Patrick’s Day. The highlight of their performances will be at St. Patrick Mission in old San Patricio.
Their opening public performance will be held Saturday, March 17, at the “No Excuses Texas State Championship BBQ Challenge & Music Festival.” The festival is held at Gulf Coast Racing, 5302 Leopard St., and two performances will be held from 1:30–2 p.m. and 3:30-4 p.m.
The group will perform later that day, from 5-5:30 p.m. and 8:15 p.m. at “Cassidy's Irish Pub St. Patrick's Day Block Party Festival.” Cassidy's will block off People St. from Water St. to Chaparral St. from 5 p.m. to midnight and will host artists, live music, food and vendors.
In between the performances at Cassidy’s the dancers will make an appearance at “Passing the Hat for Jigs Fundraiser at B&J’s Pizza,” 6335 SPID, from 6-8 p.m.
On Sunday, Sunday, March 18, the dance group will travel to St. Patrick Mission in Historic Old San Patricio, 20742 Magnolia, Mathis for a performance from 11:30 a.m.-noon. They will then proceed to the World Championship Rattlesnake Races at the Grounds in Historic Old San Patricio for a performance between 2-2:30 p.m.
Classes for The Glor na Daire Academy of Irish Dance are held in Corpus Christi on Tuesdays. Dance School Directors are Abbey Pride Wood and Brent Wood. Registration is open all year.
