Deacon Ronald N. Dubuque, “Deacon Ron”, 80, of Corpus Christi died peacefully surrounded by family on June 30. The retired U.S. Air Force Master Sergeant was a 44-year resident of Corpus Christi and for more than 26-years served as a deacon at Ss. Cyril & Methodius Parish in the Diocese of Corpus Christi.
Deacon Dubuque was born in Palmer, Massachusetts on Nov. 21, 1934 to Ronald and Winifred (Smith) Dubuque. He proudly served his country and after 20-years of service, retired as a master sergeant at McGuire Air Force base in Burlington County New Jersey. He and his family then moved to Corpus Christi where he was a Branch Manager for Stanley Smith Security and Vice-President of Alarm Security Inc.
He enjoyed travel, dancing and reading spy and western novels. He also had a great love for animals. His greatest joy in life was being surrounded by family. He will always be remembered for his great sense of humor.
He is preceded in death by his parents and brother William Dubuque. Deacon Dubuque is survived by his loving wife of 59 years Elida Dubuque; his children, Linda Marsh (Chet), Ron Dubuque (Elizabeth), Yana Benoit and Darrell Dubuque; his 19 grandchildren, Jonas, Jessica, Ronnie, Missy, Kathy, Kimberly, Doris, Michael, Michelle, Eddie, Danielle, Brandi, Deborah, Victoria, Dominique, Ava, Mia, Brianna and Brittany; and 17 great-grandchildren. He also leaves one sister, Rose Marie Dubuque of Palmer, Massachusetts and numerous nieces and nephews.
A visitation was held on Sunday, July 5, at Seaside Funeral Home Chapel with a Rosary that same evening at Ss. Cyril & Methodius. Funeral Mass was celebrated on Monday, July 6, at Ss. Cyril & Methodius and burial followed at Coastal Bend State Veterans Cemetery.
