Bishop Michael Mulvey ordained four men from the Society of Our Lady of the Most Holy Trinity (SOLT) to the priesthood Jan. 24 at Corpus Christi Cathedral. Each of the newly ordained priests will continue to serve in their present assignment: Father Alphonsus Zaldy Martin O. Abainza, SOLT serves at St. Joseph Parish in Corpus Christi; Father Juan Antonio Villagómez, SOLT serves in Benque Viejo del Carmen in Belize, Central America; Father Patrick Earl Prajzner II, SOLT serves on Turtle Mountain Indian Reservation in North Dakota; and Father Michael Mary Mercy of Christ Crucified Wight, SOLT serves in San Luis Valley, Colorado.
The newly ordained priests will each celebrate their first Mass of Thanksgiving Saturday and Sunday. Father Wight, SOLT will celebrate first Mass at Our Lady of Corpus Christi on Jan. 25 at 9 a.m. Father Abainza, SOLT will celebrate first Mass at St. Joseph Church in Corpus Christi on Jan. 25 at 6 p.m. Father Villagómez, SOLT will celebrate first Mass at St. Anthony Church in Robstown on Jan. 26 at 9 a.m. Father Prajzner, SOLT will celebrate first Mass at St. John Nepomucene Church in Robstown on Jan. 26 at 11 a.m.
