Father Martinez honored with 2016 Bishop Carmody Award

Father Peter Martinez, pastor of St. Paul the Apostle Parish, received the 2016 Bishop Carmody Award at the St. John Paul II High School Black & Gold Gala held at the American Bank Center on Feb. 20. Both Bishop Emeritus Edmond Carmody and Bishop Michael Mulvey were on hand to congratulate Father Martinez.

Also joining in congratulatory expressions were Father Martinez's mother Consuelo and members of his family.

Former state representative Hugo Berlanga, State Representative Todd Hunter and Alexis Hunter served as Gala co-chairs. Larry Elizondo served as Master of Ceremonies for the evening. The Gala is annual fund raising event for the school.
