Pilgrims from the Diocese of Corpus Christi marched from Colorado Street to the South Steps of the Texas State Capitol in Austin. They gathered with individuals from dioceses across the state of Texas to listen to pro-Life speakers, Governor Greg Abbott, Claire Culwell, Ryan Bomberger and others who spoke at the rally. They came in solidarity to give witness that Texas respects all life.
Two chartered buses embarked on an early morning rendezvous from St. John Paul II High School to attend Texas Rally for Life in Austin on Jan. 28. There were 30 students from St. John Paul II High School along with various groups of people from parishes throughout the Diocese of Corpus Christi.
They attended the Pro-Life Mass with concelebrants Bishop Joe Vasquez of Austin and Bishop Michael Mulvey of Corpus Christi at San Jose Catholic Church in Austin. The Mass was celebrated at 10 a.m.
In support of USCCBs “Walking With Moms in Need,” donations of diapers and wipes from the rally diaper drive were given to the groups in attendance. Catholic Charities of Corpus Christi received the items and will be given to Moms in need.
