For the third time, the Diocese will host the State of the Diocese event at Richard Borchard Fairgrounds – this year on November 6. It starts with an Expo where all the ministries, departments, and Catholic schools show what they are doing. Bishop Michael Mulvey will speak about what is going on in our diocese, about future developments and listen to the people's input.
Some people might think, “I went to the last State of the Diocese—why should I attend this year?” Because it will be different! Every year is new, and since we are together on our faith journey, the contributions of every participant count. Catalina Longoria, Parish Secretary and Director of Religious Education at St. Helena of the True Cross, would recommend everyone to attend the State of the Diocese: “It is so inspiring to listen to the bishop and all the people working at the diocese,” she said. “It is essential to show up, to learn what is going on and be a part of it!”
It is a new way of being Church—important topics, plans, and developments emerging in our diocese are shared and not solely the responsibility of a few people working in the diocese. It will be an opportunity to share on the table with your fellow parishioners and share a meal to connect and get to know each other better. If you haven’t registered yet, you need to hurry—registration closes tomorrow! You can also ask your friends from the parish if they have registered. Encourage everyone to try it out or return and continue the journey together.
