Catholic Network launches Catholic Schools Week with prayer

On Jan. 30, Catholic schools students and officials from throughout the Diocese of Corpus Christi broadcast a prayer launching National Catholic Schools Week. KLUX Radio carried the live broadcast.
Marty Wind, station manager, said an Internet link for streaming audio was set up for the 19 Catholic schools in the diocese to log into and listen live to the broadcast.
“We went live on the air and the Internet with the opening remarks from Bishop (Wm. Michael) Mulvey at 10 a.m.,” Wind said.
The bishop’s opening remarks were followed by the opening prayer read by Superintendent of Schools Rene Gonzalez, scripture readings Isaac Kimmel, Blessed John Pail II High School Senior and Catherine Fergie, Incarnate Word Academy High School Senior and with a closing prayer by Associate Superintendent Nanette Quintanilla-Hatch.
Others making remarks in the broadcast included Perry Le Grange, Principal at Blessed John Paul II High School; Jose Torres, IWA High School Principal; Anna Lozano, Associate Superintendent; and Sister Rosa Ortiz, IWBS.
