Catholic Charities of Corpus Christi Immigration & Refugee Services is hosting a community meeting with representatives from the United States Citizenship and Immigration Services (“USCIS”) to address questions about the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals as well as other immigration issues and appointment information. Brief consultations will also be available.
The meeting will be held on Thursday, Sept. 20, from 6–8 p.m. at the Mother Teresa Shelter Therapeutic Center located at 513 Sam Rankin Street in Corpus Christi.
The Deferred Action Program, which was announced June 15 and the subsequent registration process began Aug. 15, allows qualified individuals to register with USCIS and receive employment authorization.
Information will be available in both English and Spanish.
This event is free and open to the public. Light refreshments will be served.
