On Wednesday, Oct. 13, Catholic Charities of Corpus Christi observed its 3rd Annual Day of Remembering its clients' loved ones who are suffering from cancer and those who have passed away.
Fun Day participants decorated posters with names and messages of family members for whom they wanted to remember and pray.
Speakers shared their stories and to encourage everyone to take care of themselves. They also “fed the piggy” money collected is donated to First Friday, which provides free mammograms for women in need.
After prayers and presentation it was time for our walk. Everyone chanted, "Stay strong, have faith!” as they walked.
"This event, not only demonstrate our support for every person who has or is dealing with cancer, but it also allows our participants to bond and to know that we are a family and we are here to pray for each other," said Celia Mendez, director of the Ministry and Life Enrichment for the Disabled at Catholic Charities.
