The Centurion for Life Club at Blessed John Paul II High School took time before classes started on Sept. 5 to “tag” the school with positive pro-life messages in observance of National Pro- Life Chalk Day. Students were encouraged to take up a piece of chalk and write a phrase or quote about the beauty of life from conception to death.
“The students want to bring awareness to the campus and to evangelize,” The Centurion for Life Club sponsor Benjamin Nye said.
Fifteen students are active in the club and participate in many prayer marches such as March for Life in Texas and diocesan events like the Celebration for Life Banquet where students serve dinner to guests. The Centurion for Life Club also holds walking rosaries around the Unborn Monument located at Saratoga and Kostoryz during Lent.
Some of the messages on display at the school are “Pray to End Abortion;” “Heartbeat at 21 Days;” and “Adoption Not Abortion.” Students were also encouraged to quote Blessed Pope John Paull II and Blessed Mother Theresa of Calcutta.
