Bishop Michael Mulvey told students, in his homily at the 16th annual "Liturgy to Begin the School Year," to educate their heart with the words of Jesus Christ. Bishop Mulvey spoke to some 700 Catholic school students from throughout the Diocese of Corpus Christi. "God is never finished with us. We must take on compassion, be kind, humble, gentle, patient… and be thankful to God and be thankful to Jesus Christi," Bishop Mulvey said. "Jesus said to love your enemies. If we cannot do that we are not educated. Pray for those who treat you badly. That’s what it means to be educated fully as a human person." The students served as altar servers and lectors, participated in the procession of gifts during the offertory and carried their school's flag during the procession at the beginning and end of Mass at Corpus Christi Cathedral on Sept. 10.
