Bishop Mulvey announces pastoral assignments

For the good of the people of God in the Diocese of Corpus Christi, Bishop Michael Mulvey has made the following pastoral assignments.

Father Terencio Matthew Agbay Ayo, SOLT will serve as parochial vicar of St. Joseph parish in Corpus Christi; Father Alphonsus Zaldy Abainza, SOLT as parochial vicar of Holy Family parish in Corpus Christi; and Father Alejandro O. Saenz will serve as parish administrator for St. Michael the Archangel parish in Banquete. All three appointments are effective Jan. 8, 2016.

Father Joseph Nguyen has been assigned to pursue studies in the Clinical Pastoral Education Program with Christus Spohn Health System, effective Dec. 1.

Msgr. Leonard Pivonka was appointed to serve as Promoter of Justice for the Diocese of Corpus Christi, effective immediately.

Father John Xaviour was incardinated into the Diocese of Corpus Christi on Dec. 4.

Deacon Rolando Salazar Bishop Mulvey accepted the retirement request from Deacon Rolando Salazar, who will retain faculties for special requests as needed.
