Parishioners at St. Peter Catholic Church in Ben Bolt celebrated Blessed Mother Mary's birthday on Sunday, Sept. 8. Hundreds of parishioners and surrounding area churches came for the celebration.
The festivities started with a procession with the statue of the Blessed Mother Mary being carried by the Knights of Columbus. The choir led the singing with Marian songs all through the procession. These were songs that the entire congregation knew to sing along.
After the procession, the statue of Blessed Mother Mary was placed back at the altar and Father Ponnuswamy R. Victor celebrated Mass. The festivities continued after Mass with a luncheon in the parish hall.
The Altar and Rosary Society, the Divine Mercy Group and many others were instrumental in the preparation and planning of the celebration.
