Amy Barragree is the new Campus Minister for the Cardinal John Henry Newman Catholic Student Center at Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi and the Newman Center at Del Mar College.
Barragree was born and raised in Hays, Kansas. She received double bachelor degrees in Theology and Sociology and a master's degree in Theology and Christian Ministry at the Franciscan University of Steubenville, Ohio.
While working on her graduate degree, Barragree worked for Catholics United for the Faith and Emmaus Road Publishing, Inc. Then for about seven years she moved back to Hays to take an Adult Faith Formation job.
"I'm really looking forward to the opportunity to work with college students," Barragree said.
"The Campus Center will be open most of the time. Most pressing, right now, is starting the RCIA program and sacramental prep," she said.
The Newman Center holds Mass every Wednesday at 12:15 p.m., followed by a free lunch for the students. Sunday Mass at the Newman Center is at 11 a.m. and 8 p.m.
