CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas – Incarnate Word Academy High School will be sending 24 students to Concordia University in Austin this weekend to compete at the Texas Association of Private and Parochial Schools (TAPPS) State Academic Competition.
Last school year, the IWA Academic Team held on to their TAPPS state championship title for the fifth time in six years. This year, the Angels hope to make it their sixth first place win in seven years.
This weekend, the IWA High School Level students will compete in ready writing, calculator, solo acting, literary criticism, social studies, duet acting, poetry, and mathematics.
The Angels also will compete in science, prose, persuasive speaking, spelling, current events, number sense, advanced mathematics, Spanish, and original oratory.
