Father Michael Jordan, SOLT, lost his life in an automobile accident on IH 37 near Pleasanton on July 10. Father Ed Roche who was traveling with Father Jordan was gravely injured and remains hospitalized in San Antonio.
Bishop Wm. Michael Mulvey extended condolences on behalf of the Diocese of Corpus Christi to the Society of the Most Holy Trinity and to Father Jordan’s family
“Father Jordan was a dedicated servant of our Lord and will be missed greatly,” Bishop Mulvey said. “Over his nearly 30 years in priestly ministry, Father Jordan was esteemed for his dedication to the unborn and the incarcerated. His tireless commitments to the cause of life and to his brothers in prison are an example for all of us on how to live the Incarnate Word of God.”
The bishop also asked for prayers for Father Roche’s full recovery.
A Vigil Mass for Father Jordan will be held at 5 p.m. on Friday, July 13, at Our Lady of Corpus Christi Chapel located at 1200 Lantana St. in Corpus Christi. A fraternal dinner will follow at 6 p.m. and a rosary will be prayed at 7 p.m. A rosary and funeral Mass will be held on Saturday, July 14, at the Corpus Christi Cathedral. The rosary will begin at 9 a.m., followed by the Mass at 10 a.m. Internment will follow immediately after the funeral Mass at St. Anthony Catholic Cemetery in Robstown.
