8th Annual Angel Mile Run coincides with grand opening of IWA'S new training site

Incarnate Word Academy students, staff, faculty and alumni participated in the 8th Annual Angel Mile Run, which coincided with the grand opening of the school's new training site on Aug. 23 at Our Lady of Corpus Christi.

The new training site, which includes a one-mile trail, offers a safe training environment for student-athletes.

"The IWA athletic program?s cross country and track teams will benefit immensely from this new training site," Dominique Damian, IWA Media Relations Specialist, said.

Last year, the IWA boys cross-country team successfully defended its TAPPS 4A State Championship, while the IWA girls cross country team placed third. The IWA boys and girls track teams also competed at state bringing home several state medals and a new state record in the boys 800 meters.
