Refuge of Hope will hold their 6th Annual Gala on Saturday, Aug. 10m at the Richard M. Borchard Regional Fairgrounds in Robstown at 6 p.m.
Refuge of Hope is a locally governed faith-based, non-denominational non-profit organization based in Corpus Christi that offers support, compassion and education to young women that find themselves in an unplanned pregnancy. Its services are free, including counseling, pregnancy tests, parenting classes and much more.
“This year our goal is to raise enough money to expand our services into more small communities and school districts throughout the South Texas Region,” Sue Bernsen, Executive Director for Refuge of Hope, said.
The 6th Annual Gala will feature guest speaker Shawn Carney, Co-Founder of 40 Days for Life. Carney began his efforts in pro-life movements with Coalition for Life as a volunteer in college and later was asked to be the executive director of the organization. Coalition for Life is an active organization made up of more than 60 churches.
Gala guests will also enjoy the entertainment of “Better Late Than Never,” a seven-piece band formed some 13 years ago in Agua Dulce that offers a wide range of Christian music from Rock to Country, Latino to Tejano and even some Blues. “Better Late Than Never” has recorded two successful albums and currently plays all over Texas performing as a non-profit public charity ministry.
Tickets for the 6th Annual Refuge of Hope Gala are $50 each and include dinner. Premier tables are also available for $500 each. Tickets and table sponsorships for the event are available by calling (361) 241-5300. For more information on Refuge of Hope, please visit www.refugeofhopecc.org.
