Learn how to share your faith with children. The next Level I Catechesis Course: Part 1 will be offered at St Thomas More Catholic Church from June 15-17 & 21-25, 2023. It is an eight-day course format: Thursday – Saturday 9am-4pm; Sunday 8:30 am – 3:30 pm.

The Level I foundation course is for all Levels of Catechesis. Catechesis of the Good Shepherd is a Montessori based program for the spiritual formation of children ages 3- 13. Developed by Dr. Sofia Cavalletti, a Hebrew scripture scholar and theologian, and Gianna Gobbi, a Montessori educator, the Catechesis of the Good Shepherd aims to nurture the relationship between the child and God. The child is introduced to Jesus, our Good Shepherd, through presentations based on Scripture and Liturgy. Using manipulative materials, the child is able to contemplate God’s Holy Word, deepen his/her participation in the Liturgy, and come to know and appreciate Jesus’ Presence to us in the Eucharist. The catechist and the child are co-learners seeking together the mystery of God and God’s kingdom.
